Stone performance without the upkeep
Quartz is about 93 percent natural quartz crystal, engineered with resins into a surface that is non-porous, exceptionally scratch resistant and completely indifferent to coffee, wine and cooking oil. There is no sealing schedule and no special products: soap, water, done.
It is also the most predictable material we fit. The slab you see in the sample is the slab you get, which makes quartz the safe choice when the whole kitchen is designed around a precise colour.
From plain concrete greys to Carrara lookalikes
Because colour and pattern are added during manufacture, quartz offers a range natural stone cannot: crisp whites, deep blacks, terrazzo effects and marble veining, all consistent across the slab. Slimmer profiles are available too, ideal for bathroom wall cladding and wet rooms.

What exactly is quartz, and how is it different from natural stone?
Quartz worktops are engineered stone: roughly 93 percent natural quartz crystals bound with resins and pigments. Unlike granite or marble, which are porous and need periodic sealing, quartz is non-porous, so it resists staining and bacteria without any ongoing treatment.
Is quartz scratch resistant?
Yes. Quartz is one of the hardest minerals on earth, so engineered quartz handles knives, heavy cookware and daily kitchen wear far better than softer surfaces. No worktop is indestructible, but quartz comes close for everyday use.
Is quartz hygienic for food preparation?
Very. Because the surface is non-porous it does not harbour moisture, mould or bacteria, and it wipes clean with soap and water. Stains from wine, coffee and oils do not soak in.
How much design choice is there?
Hundreds of options. Because pigments are added during manufacture, quartz ranges from plain modern colours to veining that convincingly mimics Carrara marble. We stock samples from more than 15 manufacturers in the Ipswich showroom.
